Proven benefits of the Trager® Approach

The Trager® Approach proved over the years to be particularly useful for relieving the everyday stress that can build up in muscles and joints. The particular hands-on technique used by Trager® therapists can be especially beneficial for difficult nerve and muscle problems that have not responded to other body-centered approaches, such as chiropractic, massage, or traditional physical therapy.
The Trager® Approach has been found to be particularly useful for chronic neuromuscular ailments, such as back and neck pain, RSI and fibromyalgia as well as stress-related conditions such as headache, insomania, burn–out, depression, MS and Parkinson. For athletes and dancers it can prevent injuries and improve their performances. For actors, singers and performers it enhances good body posture, centering, and self-confidence.
Trager® is an easy, non invasive way to rediscover your balance, experience deep relaxation, joy, and freedom. Come and experience this proven technique with me, Satsavya Mertens, accredited Trager® practioner.
Reflex Response (R & R)
Underlying to the basic aim of psychophysical integration in the Trager® Approach, is a form of neuromuscular re-education called Reflex Response. This aspect of Dr. Trager’s work actively involves the client in awakening the connection between mind and body.
When there is a disfunction in the interplay of the muscular system, other muscles need to compensate and do overwork that creates over time pain, discomfort, stiffness and uneasiness. Here Reflex Response wakes up the muscular system, brings it back in balance and helps the overworked muscles to recover. R & R integrated in the Trager® session can bring relief for many psychophysical issues resulting from accidents, operations, abuse and childhood issues as well frozen shoulder, RSI, tendinitis, hernia and paralysis.
